“The last time I saw Jerry was at a New York Friars Club event. He had, by that time, surpassed legendary status. He had become something like an immortal.” Martin Scorsese
Born to Russian Jewish parents, Joseph Levitch grew up to become one of America’s best-loved comedians, better known as Jerry Lewis. His double act with Dean Martin introduced his slapstick charms to the world but his career continued evolving long after their partnership came to an end. Featuring numerous clips from some of Lewis’s most iconic films and performances, and interviews with, among others, Jean Luc Godard, Martin Scorsese and the man himself, this documentary celebrates the life and career of the remarkable entertainer, who sadly passed on earlier this year.
