An engaging and loving portrait of the iconic French writer and filmmaker Marceline Loridan-Ivens, who died last year aged 90. A Holocaust survivor and contemporary of the late prominent politician Simone Veil – the two first met at Auschwitz- Birkenau – her life was full of intellectual curiosity and political activism: she was filming in China during the Cultural Revolution and wrote about being sent to Auschwitz with her father in her critically acclaimed memoir. This film, completed a mere six weeks before her death, is a tribute to a truly exceptional woman – and life.
