For 30 years, the Cohen family has been running a small-town strip club and a seedy motel on the outskirts of Toronto.

After a 10 year absence, Shawney Cohen returns to help out with the business in crisis, and turns his camera on his unconventional family: his father, Roger, a morbidly obese, ‘Tony Soprano-like’ patriarch and his mother, Brenda, a mild-mannered, long-suffering anorexic.

While Shawney sees the destructive power of the family business, his brother Sammy loves the lifestyle it brings.

Told with humorous honesty from the unique perspective of an insider, The Manor is an astonishingly compelling and intimate portrait of a family struggling to keep it together.
