A thought-provoking directorial debut by the acclaimed Israeli-Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass (Lemon Tree, The Syrian Bride).

Against the backdrop of the Israel-Lebanon war, a family living in an Israeli- Arab village in Northern Galilee gathers to celebrate a family wedding, and the occasion exposes deep rifts bubbling beneath the surface of this tightly knit family. The youngest daughter’s scandalous revelation, that she is in love with an Englishman, triggers an internal war that threatens to tear the family apart.

This well-observed, insightful drama offers a unique glimpse from an insider’s perspective into the lives and dilemmas facing today’s Israeli Arabs, a community struggling to maintain its identity, torn between modernity and tradition.
