“The film depicts the ways of a community infrequently seen on Israeli screens.” – Variety
A beautifully filmed tale of father/son struggles set in the sweeping landscape of the Negev. Moti is ten years old and wants to build motor cars. But his father wants him to work on the family turkey farm, as he was forced to by his own father. When Uncle Darius arrives from America, showing Moti another way, the family threatens to unravel. Written and directed by Yuval Delshad, Baba Joon is set in a Persian-immigrant moshav of the 1980s, powerfully capturing the challenges of preserving tradition in the face of modernity.
