Penny Faust is the former Chair of the Oxford Council of Faiths and currently Chair of the annual Oxford Interfaith Friendship Walk. In 2017 she received the Oxfordshire High Sheriff’s Award in recognition of exceptional services to the community.

She worked as a freelance broadcast journalist and contributor to Radio 4’s Thought for the Day and was a member of an independent team supporting school self-evaluation and improvement. For five years she chaired Oxfordshire Children’s Fund managing a multi-agency, voluntary and statutory, approach to preventative work with children aged 5-13 across the county and for fifteen years was Chair of Oxfordshire Standing Advisory Committee for Religious Education.

She has held a variety of voluntary posts in the Oxford Jewish Congregation, including two years as President, and eight years as chair of the committee which manages the Oxford Jewish Centre. She was a School Governor for more than 30 years, in both the state and independent sectors, and is a former Chair of the Oxfordshire Federation of PTAs. She currently chairs the Independent Police Advisory Group for Oxford.

She also derives great enjoyment from being a mother and grandmother.
