The inspiration for Forgotten Soldier, Lady Irene Hatter galvanised the outstanding research by her brother Jacques, and went on a journey to discover the truth behind her father Sally’s wartime exploits. Lady Irene Hatter was born in Holland and moved to London in her early twenties. She is married to the industrialist Sir Maurice Hatter and together they have devoted over 35 years to a range of philanthropic work, primarily in education and in particular to ORT. They are long standing patrons and donors to the University of Haifa where they have endowed buildings, scholarships and educational programmes.
