Dexter has sung with many of the UK best known jazz names on the UK Jazz scene, including Jim Mullen, Bobby Wellins and John Etheridge, and appeared at the 606 Club and the Vortex and has also performed with Myleene Klass and Jocelyn Brown, and was a session singer in the 1980’s on David Sylvian’s seminal “Brilliant Trees” album and has also recorded in Germany with a band including jazz guitarist, Lee Ritenour, and he continues with his soul & funk band, Dex & Mercy. His jazz vocals have great warmth and agility with an ability to cross over between styles, so there’s a touch of Nat King Cole; George Benson and Kurt Elling. Dexter has recently completed his CD “It’s All About Time” featuring Sean Hargreaves and Jeremy Shoham.
