Dr Claire Thomson is Associate Professor of Scandinavian Film at UCL. She is the author of Short Films from a Small Nation: Danish Informational Cinema 1935-65 (Edinburgh UP, 2018) and Thomas Vinterberg’s Festen (University of Washington Press, 2013) and is co-editing A History of Danish Cinema (Edinburgh UP, forthcoming 2020). She has also written on Norwegian cinema, including post-WWII documentary and public information film, and the cinema of Joachim Trier.
