Asher Tlalim is an Israeli Academy Award Winner (Ophir) whose films have been shown in the Berlin Film Festival, Jerusalem Film Festival, and many others. A retrospective of 20 (out of more than 50) of his films was screened in Israel three years ago, among them Don’t Touch My Holocaust, Galoot (Exile in Hebrew), My Yiddishe Mama’s Dream and his award-winning trilogy All The Lonely People.
Asher runs the Pears Short Film Fund at UK Jewish Film and FilmLab. Asher was the founder, main lecturer and Head of the popular Screen Studies scheme of the Jerusalem Cinematheque ‘Kolnoa, Teritoria Nisteret‘ (cinema, hidden territory)’ for 15 years. He was the Head of the Editing Department of the IBA (Israeli BBC). He has taught at the Sam Spiegel Jerusalem Film School, Tel-Aviv University, Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem and the NFTS – National Film and Television Film of the UK.
