Screening at JW3 as part of our UK Jewish Film: Back to the Cinema summer season.
Arriving in Tel Aviv for work, Michael, a New York Times travel writer, looks forward to relaxing in the flat he has reserved for his short visit. But when he finds out that the long-term tenant, Tomer – a much younger Israeli film student – has nowhere to go, he invites him to stay. Over the course of five days, Michael and Tomer realise they share more than just the flat, or even their gay and Jewish identities as they open up about their heartaches and dreams. Veteran Israeli filmmaker Eytan Fox (Yossi and Jagger, Walk on Water) returns with this heart-warming gem, a film that celebrates the unexpected beauty of Tel Aviv’s less touristy spots – and of growing old.
Warning: the film contains scenes of a sexual nature.
