“A shaggy hangout movie that puts the “high” in l’chayim.” – Variety
“A bittersweet comedy-drama in which the pain is as real as the frequent chuckles.” – The Hollywood Reporter
Receiving standing ovations and strong reviews following its premiere in Cannes this year, One Week and a Day is on its way to become one of Israel’s biggest films of 2016. First-time director Asaph Polonsky tackles heavyweight issues of the heart in a quirky, humorous way. It’s the day after the shiva for their only son, and Eyal and Vicky are not quite sure how to go back to their daily lives. While Vicky insists on keeping to her routine, Eyal is intent on finding the remainder of their son’s medical cannabis at the hospice and getting high with his neighbour’s grown up son. Irreverent yet sensitive, Polonsky’s debut proves there are no rules when dealing with loss.
