The inheritance of an apartment on the Rue Mandar leads to a host of sibling rivalries, squabbles and nonstop kvetching in writer-director Idit Cebula’s debut film.

Charles, Rosemonde and Emma, a brother and two sisters, find themselves back at their childhood home, in Paris, after meeting up at an incredible funeral. Drama, or farce, ensues, as a family who don’t know how to express their feelings for each other are forced to confront each other again.

At turns tender, comic, despairing, and familiar…

A unique and bittersweet coming-of-age tale about ten year old Michael Cohen. Michael’s world is a confusing mix of Jewish tradition and secular society, a result of his father, Ben, “marrying out”.

When Michael realises a spelling test falls on Rosh Hashanah, his father’s Jewish heritage becomes an opportunity to skip class. Underneath this simple tale, Happy New Year tells a deeper, universal story about how identity confusion can lead a child to behave in unexpected and unusual ways.
