Welcome to UK Jewish Film’s innovative, film-based project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and led by young volunteers from Noam Masorti Youth Movement.

With a focus on Jewish British film and cinema heritage, the project has offered opportunities to research this fascinating topic in order to create our own films and an interactive timeline.

In partnership with Jewish Care, we filmed interviews with senior members of the Jewish community, capturing for posterity their memories of film and cinema in years gone by. Unique visual and oral histories are all hosted here.

There are ideas for ways into thinking about film and cinema heritage for people of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds in the activities section.

Educators’ notes provide curriculum pathways through the site for teachers of citizenship, history, film and media studies, and suggest ways to use this resource in informal learning contexts.
