Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1992 it dawned on Barry Skolnick that he couldn’t possibly do this for the rest of his life. Twelve months later having quit the property world he found himself sweeping floors at Carlton Studios in St John’s Wood in the hope of making it slowly up the ladder of the TV or Film World. Another seven years on from this dusty beginning in the Arts, Skolnick Directed his first feature film for Paramount Pictures, Mean Machine with Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones. Along the way he passed through the Promo departments of The Cartoon Network and Sky Sports as well as Directing Commercials through Ridley Scott Associates in London and LA. Currently working as Creative Director for BSkyB, Skolnick last year also returned to film making with an award winning short Through The Window.
