Amy Rosenthal is an acclaimed playwright whose work includes: Polar Bears (A Play A Pie & A Pint, West Yorkshire Playhouse 2015); The Ballad of Martha Brown  (co-written with Angel Exit Theatre, Angel Exit Theatre & on tour 2014); The Tailor-Made Man – A New Musical (Arts Theatre 2013); Liberation (Yad Arts, Tricycle Theatre, 2011); The Workroom (adapt. for RADA 2010); On the Rocks (Hampstead Theatre 2008), which was shortlisted for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize; Jerusalem Syndrome (Manchester Royal Exchange Studio 1999 & Soho Theatre 2000); Henna Night  at the Scarborough Festival 1999 and Chelsea Theatre 2001) which was winner of the Sunday Times Drama Award. Work for radio includes an adaptation of Jack Rosenthal’s Bar Mitzvah Boy (2011), his teleplay Tortoise (2006), as well as Amy’s original radio play Little Words(2001), all for BBC Radio 4. Her short film, That Woman, premiered at the UK Jewish Film Festival in autumn 2012.
Amy has written the libretto for the chamber opera Entanglement, touring summer 2015 (Nova Music Opera). Current projects include a new musical, The Queen and I, which is undergoing development work at the Arcola Theatre, and a commission from the Everyman Theatre.
