Overwhelmed by a sense of loss following his wife’s premature death, a Hassidic cantor becomes obsessed with what might happen to her remains. He contacts a jaded community college biology professor (Matthew Broderick) and together they embark on a series of experiments to determine the speed of decomposition. Premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival this year, To Dust is a highly original and gloriously morbid tale of overcoming loss that also puts the perennial tension between religion and science in a whole new light.
