With just one month to go before her wedding date, Michal finds herself suddenly deserted by her fiancé, who has undergone an abrupt change of heart and called off the engagement.
32-years-old and alone, Michal is disenchanted with the traditional course of matchmaking, which has only failed her up until now, and yet remains utterly determined to find herself a partner and begin her adult life. So she takes a bold course of action: Michal decides to keep the impending wedding venue reservation and trusts that God will provide her with a husband: “I have the venue, the dress, the apartment; God can easily come up with my groom”.
Rama Burshtein’s energetic comedy looks at love in the Hasidic community of Tel Aviv and is the perfect complement to the taut drama of her previous film, 2012’s Fill the Void.
