“Poignant and powerful.” – Los Angeles Times
Jewish Brazilian director Jose Padilha has created a superbly watchable if controversial drama based on the true story of the hijack of an airliner en route from Tel Aviv to Paris in June 1976, which was forced to land in Entebbe, Uganda. Rosmaund Pike and Daniel Brühl shine as left wing German radicals who demand the release of dozens of Palestinian terrorists. The thriller follows the hijackers and hostages as well as the political leaders trying to decide whether to negotiate or send an elite special forces unit on a dramatic rescue mission to free the hostages. Also starring Lior Askenazi, Eddie Marsan and Nonso Anozie.
