Faith on Film in Manchester

UK Jewish Film’s latest interfaith partnership project with the 3FF (Three Faiths Forum), Radical Middle Way and Insight Film involved events in Manchester and Bradford to explore the use of film as a tool to open up conversations around faith, identity and belief.

The programme included an opportunity to watch the film Besa – The Promise, the fascinating documentary revealing the story of Muslim Albanians who risked their lives sheltering Jews during the Holocaust, and was followed by dinner and discussion.

At a second event in each city participants examined film clips from a selection of short films that explore questions around faith, identity and belief as stimulus for discussion. Attendees contributed to a toolkit designed to support community development of future intercultural projects based on faith and film.that we hope will be more widely available in the near future.
